Veterinary simulators - Equine/Horse

Anatomical models of horses are an excellent tool used at veterinary universities, as well as as equipment for clinics and offices. Anatomical models of animals are very often used to decorate offices or lecture halls. Thanks to three-dimensional shapes, it is possible to discuss the exact structure of animals and their vital functions. Their realistic appearance and attention to reproduction of all elements allow them to be used for comparative anatomy and other research. In our online store we have complete horse models, skeletons, trainers and simulators.

What does the OpenMedis online store offer?

Educational aids can be divided into 3 groups. These include anatomical models, veterinary simulators (trainers, phantoms) and teaching boards. The models are mainly used to learn anatomy and topography. They are intended for students of veterinary sciences. They are ideal equipment for teaching laboratories. Simulators and trainers are intended for learning and training in veterinary procedures, such as: rectal examination, assessment of the mare's reproductive organs, intraneural and intramuscular injections, blood collection, gastric endoscopic examination, imaging and catheter placement. Educational boards in the field of veterinary medicine are helpful primarily for learning anatomy and topography (just like physical models).

OpenMedis' wide offer includes animal anatomical models and veterinary simulators (more and less advanced) and zoological educational boards. Our assortment includes several complete anatomical models of mare/horse, made in a smaller scale (scale 1:3). Depending on the level of complexity, they consist of several parts (usually 12-16 separate elements).

  • The 16-piece model of horse deserves attention - the most advanced in the world. The model shows a mare of 1/3 life size. It is intended for teaching purposes and is mounted on a base with wheels. The model can be divided into two parts in the sagittal plane: one side shows the external anatomy and the other side shows the muscles. The left interior shows the chest and abdominal cavity with replaceable organs. The right side shows the main blood vessels. The head half can be separated from the muscle half.
  • Practical teaching aids include the didactic anatomical model of the horse's hoof, which can be disassembled into 6 parts. Dimensions approx. 31x20x18cm. Model on base.
  • Another interesting product in this category is a life-size model depicting a horse's foot. It shows the fetlock, crown and hoof bones. Enables the presentation of the location of the crown and hoof joint. Size: 9 x 8 x 16.5cm.

Models of horse organs such as:

  • Horse stomach model, 2 parts. This is a realistic model of a horse stomach. It is separated into 2 parts, each of which represents the internal and external structures of the stomach.
  • A popular product is a life-size model of a horse's uterus on a base. It has one removable part, which when unfastened reveals the internal structure.
  • An important element of our offer are bone models, e.g. a model of a horse's skull (artificial or real), models of horse limbs or a complete model of a horse's skeleton on a base.

Another type of teaching aids available in our offer are veterinary simulators and trainers. They are intended primarily for learning and training activities and procedures in the field of veterinary medicine, such as: rectal examination, assessment of the mare's reproductive system, abdominocentesis, venous and intramuscular injections, nerve blocks, diagnosis of sea diseases, gastric probing, imaging.

  • Trainer for learning nasogastric intubation in horses. Anatomically correct, it allows training for the basic procedure performed routinely in cases of equine colic to decompress the stomach and provide therapy. This model can be immobilized with the head down first to avoid insertion of the tube into the trachea. The nasogastric tube can then be inserted into the nose ventrally and medially. When the tube reaches the throat, there is a soft resistance as the tube contacts the opening in the esophagus. The horse's head can be bent up and down to open the airway or esophagus. The model includes both the esophagus and trachea to ensure proper tube placement. You can touch the nasogastric tube above the left jugular vein and feel it travel along the neck under the skin into the stomach. The model also includes dorsal ("false nostril") and ventral ("true nostrils").
  • Horse limb trainer for learning how to perform peripheral nerve blocks. This is an easy-to-use model used to teach students the peripheral nerve block procedure. Anatomically correct, accurate reproduction of a horse's limb. After correctly placing the needles, you will hear a sound signal. The model has realistic nerve palpation sensations and needle resistance.
  • The horse head trainer for venocentesis and intramuscular injections is an advanced and realistic horse head simulator on a stand, intended for training and improving the skills of intravenous puncture and intramuscular injections.
  • Horse vascular access simulator - Perfect for veterinary students. It allows you to acquire practical skills before working with live animals. It has been developed to provide the most anatomically correct and realistic simulated procedures performed on horses. Provides excellent assistance during veterinary training. The phantom is modeled on a one-year-old horse. It allows you to learn and perform the following procedures: Taking blood from the neck, Inserting a catheter into the jugular veins, Taking blood from the deep facial artery, Taking blood from the transverse facial vein, Inserting a transverse facial artery catheter.
  • The Advanced Horse Phantom (black) is the leading and most comprehensive simulator of its kind. It allows you to learn and perform the following procedures: Intramuscular injections, procedures within the nasolacrimal duct, Placement of a subpalpebral irrigation system, Intraneural injections within the eyes - (n. auriculopalpebral and n. supraorbital), Intraneural injections within the teeth - Mental Nerve, Maxillary Nerve and Infraorbital Nerve, Blood collection from the neck, Insertion of a catheter into the jugular veins, Blood collection from the deep facial artery, Blood collection from the transverse facial vein. Perfect for veterinary students. It allows you to acquire practical skills before working with live animals. Advanced Equine Simulator has been developed to provide the most anatomically correct and realistic simulated horse procedures. Provides excellent assistance during veterinary training.
  • The most advanced horse simulator is the Advanced Mare Model for learning palpation/colic simulator with the possibility of performing venocentesis and intramuscular injections. It is a life-size, realistic mare simulator. It enables students to learn palpation and recognizing the symptoms of colic, abdominal pain, performing venocentesis and intramuscular injections.
