Anatomical Models - Skin-hair-nail

Skin models are an excellent educational tool that allows you to expand your anatomical knowledge about the layers of the skin and the products of the epidermis. Educational skin models will find their place in doctor's offices, medical universities and clinics. Anatomical models are mainly used in education, teaching biology, anatomy and for demonstration purposes. The visualization of internal structures allows you to accelerate the acquisition of knowledge. On our OpenMedis website you will find microscopic models of the skin, cross-sections of the skin, nail and hair models and models of skin diseases. Each skin model has been produced with great care and has all the details of the anatomical structure.

Anatomical structure of the skin:

The skin is the largest organ of the human body and performs many important functions. First of all, it protects the inside of our body against harmful external factors. It consists of three main layers: epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue.
Epidermis - the outermost layer of the skin, consisting of epithelial cells. This layer of skin performs a protective function. In addition, it also contains melanocytes, which produce the skin pigment melanin.
Dermis - located below the epidermis. It consists of collagen and elastic fibers. It contains blood vessels that supply the skin with oxygen and nutrients.
Subcutaneous tissue - the innermost layer of the skin, consisting mainly of fat cells. It is mainly responsible for insulation, supporting the process of maintaining body temperature.

Skin Features:

  • Protective - the skin is a protective barrier against microorganisms, harmful substances and UV radiation. The epidermis protects the body against infections and excessive water loss.
  • Thermoregulation - the skin regulates our body temperature by expanding and contracting blood vessels and sweating. In a cool environment, blood vessels constrict to reduce heat loss, while in a warm environment they dilate to allow heat to be dissipated to the outside. The sweat secreted by sweat glands on the skin evaporates, which also contributes to cooling the body.
  • Feeling - in the skin there are various types of sensory receptors that allow you to sense touch, pain, temperature and other external stimuli.
  • Excretion - through the secretion of sweat, some toxins from our body are excreted through the skin.
  • Vitamin D production - in this tissue, vitamin D is synthesized under the influence of UV radiation.
These are just a few of the many functions that the skin performs. Our anatomical and didactic models will allow you to explore these issues and better understand the structure and function of the skin, nails and hair.

What does the OpenMedis online store offer?

Anatomical models are extremely helpful when learning anatomy as well as physiology and pathology of the skin, thanks to the richness of anatomical structures and complex structure. We offer various types of skin models. Below we present several types of models that are available in our online store:
  • Skin model - didactic skin models are extremely useful for visualizing and learning about the individual layers of the skin and the products of the epidermis. In our store's offer we have various types of enlarged skin cross-section models.
  • Model of skin, hair, nails - we offer enlarged nail models that present three layers of the anatomical structure of the nail: matrix, bed and nail plate. In addition, in our store we have sets of models that include anatomical models of skin, nails and hair. The hair model shows the different layers of the hair, such as the scales, root, shaft and hair bulb.
  • Skin disease models – in this category we have didactic models showing different types of skin cancer.
Our anatomical and didactic models are carefully made of high-quality materials that reflect the real structures of the skin, nails and hair. Thanks to them, you will be able to explore this fascinating subject and develop your knowledge about the human body.
Application of skin models:
Education and training - models of skin, nails and hair are a reliable tool for learning biology, anatomy and learning about the internal structure of individual structures. Our didactic models allow visual and tactile understanding of the structure and function of skin, nails and hair.
Clinical Practice - didactic models can be used in clinical practice by physicians, dermatologists, cosmetologists and other skin health professionals.
Patient education – Skin models are useful in educating patients, especially those with skin problems. They allow for a better understanding of the disease, learning about medical procedures and support during consultations with a doctor. The patient actively participates in the visit to the specialist.
The decor of the office - our didactic skin models, in addition to the educational feature, have a visual feature. Due to the aesthetics of workmanship, they allow for use in doctor's offices, beauty salons and clinics.
The use of anatomical models of skin, nails, hair and skin diseases is of great importance in the fields of medicine, science and education. Thanks to these models, it is possible to deepen one's and patients' knowledge and develop diagnostic skills. The anatomical models of the skin in the offer of our online store are made with full attention to detail and aesthetics. Thanks to them, learning the anatomy and physiology of the skin becomes easier to assimilate.
We also recommend models of the skull, nervous system and acupuncture models, which in combination with anatomical models of the skin will create an ideal set for learning anatomy.
If you have any questions or if the skin model you need is not available in the store, please contact us by e-mail or contact phone. We are sure that together we will be able to provide the necessary materials for learning and improving skills. We are able to produce custom models.
